Hello, Heidi! I saw you read last night and wanted to ask about getting a copy of Other Heroes. I really enjoyed your work. And if you want help in distributing books in random places, I am so up for that! Feel free to email me with any info. Take care!

Hi Jessica! You are officially on the team! Thank you! It’s going to be so much fun to hear where you put them, and see what happens next. I anticipate Other Heroes will be ready to go mid-June (fingers crossed for the Kickstarter) so I’ll be in touch. The Pass It On Poetry page just went up on Facebook – let the games begin. Thank you for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the poems. Cheers, dear!

Hi! I just came upon your website and poem “Trials of a Teenage Transvestite’s Single Mother”, I was so moved by it. I found myself ready to run into that convenience store with you! I love your style of telling a story and putting us in the scene. I am interested in reading more of your poetry. My email address is nwp.enrichment@gmail.com. Thank you so much and best of luck!

    Diana

      Hi Diana,
Thank you for letting me know! I’m encouraged that the subject and narrative form resonated for you. I’ll send you a link for the free book via email, if you’d like to have it.
      All the best,
      Heidi

Your poems are just great – I’d like to use your Rattle-winning poem in my lit class – and I’d sure like to see some more of your work and have you send some poetry to the 2 Bridges Review if you’ve a mind to. http://www.2bridgesreview.org (We’re a print journal, too).
    Best and thanks,
    Kate

      Hi Kate,
I’m excited to hear you’re a teacher. Please let me know how it goes with your class; I’d love to be a fly on the wall. I was reading BH Fairchild just before I wrote that poem, if that’s interesting or helpful to you for context. And yes, I’ll send to 2Bridges Review, thanks.

Meanwhile, the poem you mention is in a free book which is out in circulation, called “Other Heroes”. If you’re interested in the story, the project is called Pass It On Poetry and there’s a Facebook page. I’m hoping folks who find the book will turn up and share poems of their own.
      Many thanks!
      Heidi
